On 1 September 2026, the Global Youth Dialogue Among Civilizations Alliance (GYDCA) and the Beijing Youth Federation (BYF) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a framework for long-term cooperation dedicated to strengthening Sino-European youth relations, intercultural dialogue and international youth engagement.
The agreement was signed at UNESCO in Paris during the inaugural edition of the Sino-European Youth Dialogue Among Civilizations, which brought together a Beijing Youth Federation delegation and students from Sciences Po, Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas and Sorbonne Université.
This partnership combines the Beijing Youth Federation’s extensive youth network with GYDCA’s international platform for dialogue among civilizations. Through their cooperation, the two organizations aim to create meaningful opportunities for young people to meet across cultures, exchange perspectives and take an active role in international discussions.
As outlined in the agreement, GYDCA and the Beijing Youth Federation will work together to:
- Strengthen exchanges between young people from Beijing, Europe and other regions;
- Promote dialogue among civilizations and mutual understanding;
- Organize youth dialogues, conferences, roundtables and intercultural events;
- Develop international education, professional development and mobility opportunities;
- Support youth-led initiatives in innovation and entrepreneurship;
- Encourage cooperation in the digital and creative industries;
- Promote young artists and designers through exhibitions and international touring opportunities;
- Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices;
- Amplify youth voices through joint communication initiatives;
- Expand young people’s participation in international and multilateral platforms.
The partnership will support the development of joint projects in China, France and other countries. The two organizations will explore opportunities to organize youth forums, exchange programmes, innovation events, exhibitions, leadership initiatives and cross-cultural activities.
At the heart of this cooperation lies a shared conviction: young people should not be regarded merely as beneficiaries of international dialogue, but as active contributors capable of shaping ideas, proposing solutions and building lasting connections across cultures.
The signing of the MOU represents more than an institutional commitment. It marks the beginning of a new bridge between young people in China and Europe and opens the way for future encounters, learning opportunities and collaborative initiatives.
GYDCA and the Beijing Youth Federation look forward to transforming this shared commitment into concrete projects that empower young people to learn from one another, broaden their perspectives and contribute to a more connected and mutually understanding world.
